CONTINUING CLUB PROJECTS

Annual Town Cleanup – Members perform spring cleanup of common areas in town and prepare for annual planting. 

Annual Planting throughout the Town -Annuals are planted and maintained by club to beautify specific  town areas.

Garden of the Month: May through September – In order to encourage the love of gardening in our town, each month one garden - along with its creator(s) -   is recognized for its unique and beautiful qualities.

Decorate Public Areas for the Holidays – Town buildings and areas are creatively decorated with designs of holiday greens.

Senior Outreach with Town’s Senior Citizens – Club members work with other town organizations on functions specifically for seniors in town and provide table designs at Senior luncheons.

Scholarship to Timberlane Regional High School Senior – AGC awards a $750 scholarship to a local student pursuing college programs related to conservation, the environment or horticulture.

Donate Items for Emmaus House – Items needed by local homeless and family shelter are donated by club members.

Sponsor Youth Activities – Members meet with elementary school children to further interest in nature, the environment, and gardening.

Purple Iris Newsletter- A quarterly newsletter for AGC members is distributed at meetings.

Daffodil Days- Club members participate in American Cancer Society fundraiser.

Gentlemen’s Night- Executive Board entertain club members and their guests as a thank you for the year’s accomplishments.

Community Food Bank- Club members will donate non-perishable food items to a local food bank. 

Men’s Garden Club- Atkinson Garden Club will establish a garden club for men.
